Join John Sandham and celebrate National Eucalypt Day as he takes you on a tour of the remaining River Red Gums (Eucalyptus camaldulensis) in Adelaide Botanic Garden and Botanic Park, and introduces you to their young progeny.

Learn about where these striking trees started their long life before the arrival of Colonel Light and the development of the botanic garden.

Explore the evolution of the Australian landscape and the importance of the River Red Gum – how it manages to survive from state to state.

Ponder what these trees may have witnessed over their lifetime and unearth this Australian icon’s Italian connections, discovering why these historic relations will last forever.

You’ll be swept up imagining what the future generation of trees will look like in 200+ years’ time.
